Hand-Knotted Afghan Stripe Rug

This piece builds its color entirely from fine, individual pinstripes rather than broad bands, dozens of thin lines in wine red, charcoal, sage, and gold thread through a soft dusty rose and tan ground, so densely packed that the whole surface reads as a richly variegated, almost tweed-like texture rather than a bold graphic stripe.
