Hand-Knotted Afghan Ziegler Rug

This Ziegler leans warmer and busier than a lot of the ivory-ground pieces we've listed, mostly thanks to the strong rust red border doing real work around the edges. The ivory field carries a diamond trellis of small florals and leaf clusters, with alternating diamond medallions in rust and near-black navy set at regular intervals down the field, keeping the eye moving without ever tipping into clutter. The wide rust border, filled with its own dense scrollwork and rosettes in sage and gold, gives the whole rug a strong, defined edge, more like a formal frame than a soft transition.

Coordinating that much color and detail between a light field and a dark, saturated border takes careful planning, since the two have to feel connected rather than like two separate rugs stitched together.
