This Handmade Afghan Bakhtiari Heritage Rug fills a rich red field with dozens of small square panels, each holding its own floral motif in navy, mustard, sage green, or rust. A botanical border of scattered tree and leaf motifs frames the entire piece.
Every panel was hand-knotted through Kelim Shop's own production in Afghanistan, working directly with our weavers. That direct relationship keeps a rug this labor-intensive fairly priced, since each square takes real time to complete individually.
The deep red ground gives this Bakhtiari layout a bolder, warmer read than typical ivory or cream fields, making it a strong centerpiece rather than a background rug.
