This piece takes a much more botanical, illustrative approach than a traditional gul repeat, large maple-leaf shapes, each speckled with tiny dots and finely veined in ivory, cascade loosely across a soft taupe field on thin curling vines. Small star-shaped florets fill the gaps between the larger leaves, giving the whole composition an autumnal, almost hand-painted quality rather than a formal geometric pattern. Nothing here repeats in a strict grid, the leaves scatter and overlap the way they might fall naturally, which gives the rug real organic movement.
Rendering leaves this large and this detailed, with fine veining and speckled texture inside each one, takes a different set of skills than a tight repeating motif. Every leaf and vine in this rug was hand-knotted through Kelim Shop's own production based in Afghanistan, with our weavers working the veining and speckle detail by hand to keep each leaf feeling organic rather than mechanically repeated.
Because the palette stays so tightly earthen, taupe, brown, and soft rose, this rug reads as warm and grounding despite how much movement is happening across the field.
A few specifics:
- Hand-knotted in Afghanistan through Kelim Shop's own weaving operation
- Genuine wool, chosen for fine detail work within each leaf
- Oversized maple leaf motifs on trailing vines with star floret accents
- Taupe ground with warm brown, dusty rose, and ivory detailing
- Handmade variation means every rug is genuinely one of a kind
- Direct production keeps pricing fair for this level of detail
- Well suited to transitional, botanical, or warm contemporary interiors
If you want a rug with real organic, botanical movement rather than a formal repeat, this leaf-scattered Qeshlaq Gul design brings that into a room.

How can Kelimshop offer such low prices?
We keep our prices very low because there are no middlemen. We have our own production units in Afghanistan and Pakistan, allowing us to work directly from production to customer.
Many traditional retailers buy their rugs from wholesalers or other suppliers, which means extra margins are added at each stage before the rug reaches you. At Kelimshop, we cut out those extra steps and costs, so we can offer authentic, high-quality rugs at much better prices.
Can I see or feel the rug before I buy?
Yes, you can see and feel the rug by visiting our showroom in the Netherlands. You can simply make an appointment by calling +31614545999, by emailing us at kelimshop@gmail.com, or by using the contact form on our Contact Us page.
We understand that choosing a rug online can be difficult. If you would like more information, additional photos or help understanding the colours and texture of a particular rug, please contact us before ordering. We will do our best to help you choose with confidence.
How do I know if the rug will look right in my home?
Check the measurements on the product page and compare them with the space in your room before ordering. We also recommend viewing the product photos carefully, as they show the colours, pattern and overall character of the rug. If you are unsure about a particular rug, Contact Us and we will be happy to help.
