This set of two handwoven kilim cushion cover is built around one of the most compelling design ideas in artisan weaving — the split panel. Rather than repeating a single pattern across the entire surface, the cover brings together two entirely different weave sections side by side, each with its own colour story and texture, creating a composition that is far more interesting than a conventional design could ever be.

Cover One is immediately striking in its use of contrasting colour and texture. The dominant left panel is a wide expanse of rich violet purple — warm, vibrant and deeply saturated. Running through this purple ground are multiple horizontal woven detail bands of deep red and crimson, their intricate geometric pattern adding a layer of artisan complexity to the otherwise open surface. The texture shifts across the panel from smooth plain weave to the raised tactile quality of the detail bands, creating a surface that rewards both sight and touch.
