Handwoven Kilim Cushion Cover

This set of two handwoven kilim cushion cover is built around one of the most compelling design ideas in artisan weaving, the split panel. Rather than repeating a single pattern across the entire surface, the cover brings together two entirely different weave sections side by side, each with its own colour story and texture, creating a composition that is far more interesting than a conventional design could ever be.

Both covers in this set share the same core palette and the same two-panel structure, a bold wide horizontal stripe panel paired with a narrow vertical fine stripe accent panel, but present them in slightly different arrangements that make each cover feel individual while clearly belonging together as a set.

Cover One leads with a wide, generous bold horizontal stripe panel that fills the right two-thirds of the cover. Lime yellow-green, soft peach orange, clear sky blue, warm cream, near-black and deep red move in a confident, open rhythm across the surface. The stripes are broad and unhurried, each one filling its space with a rich, deeply saturated colour that shifts naturally in tone across the handwoven wool surface. The lime green and sky blue tones feel fresh and contemporary. The cream and near-black stripes add graphic contrast and grounding weight. The deep red at the base brings warmth and anchor to the whole composition. Running along the left edge, the narrow fine stripe panel adds its contrasting personality, amber orange, sky blue, red, lime, white and burgundy packed tightly together in a dense vertical sequence that buzzes with colour against the wider, calmer stripes beside it.

Cover Two mirrors the same energy with a subtle shift in balance. Here the bold wide horizontal stripe panel moves to the right and lower portion of the cover, the same lime green, peach, sky blue, cream and near-black stripes now framed above by a wide near-black colour block at the top that gives the cover a more graphic, architectural quality. The fine stripe panel moves to the left side, the same dense, tightly packed multicolour arrangement as Cover One, this time reading as a vertical accent band that frames the bold stripes with colour and complexity.

Together these covers create a pairing that is fresh, vibrant and completely cohesive, sharing the same palette and stripe language while each presenting it with a slightly different emphasis and arrangement.
