Handwoven Kilim Cushion Cover

This set of two handwoven kilim cushion cover is built around one of the most compelling design ideas in artisan weaving, the split panel. Rather than repeating a single pattern across the entire surface, the cover brings together two entirely different weave sections side by side, each with its own colour story and texture, creating a composition that is far more interesting than a conventional design could ever be.

This set takes a warmer, more restrained approach than many others in the collection, choosing a palette of amber gold, burnt orange, deep red, cool grey, dusty cream and sky blue that feels rich without being loud, colourful without being overwhelming. Cover One presents its two panels side by side in a clean vertical split. The left panel carries bold wide vertical stripes in amber gold, burnt orange, warm cream and deep red, each stripe generous and unhurried, the colours deeply saturated and shifting naturally across the handwoven wool surface. The amber and orange tones glow with a rich, earthy warmth that immediately invites the eye. The right panel is its calm and considered counterpart, dense fine horizontal stripes in soft cream, cool grey, dusty rose, burgundy red and muted blue-grey run in a tight, rhythmic sequence across the entire right half. The stripes here are fine and closely packed, creating a surface of quiet complexity that rewards close inspection. A wide band of warm grey sits at the centre of this panel, providing a moment of visual calm within the fine stripe arrangement. Together the two panels create a cover that balances energy and restraint in equal measure.

Cover Two rearranges the same palette into a different compositional story. Here the bold wide stripe panel moves to the lower left, amber gold, burnt orange, warm cream and deep red arranged in the same generous vertical rhythm as Cover One, but now positioned as a grounding anchor at the base of the cover. Above and around it, fine horizontal stripes in dusty lavender, cool grey, sky blue, deep red and cream fill the upper and right portions of the cover, wider in this cover than in Cover One, moving between fine and medium width stripes that create a more open, airy feel. The sky blue stripes are particularly prominent here, their cool freshness sitting in beautiful contrast to the warm amber and orange of the bold stripe panel below and to the left.

Together these two covers share the same warm core palette and the same split panel language while each presenting a completely individual composition, a pairing that is warm, balanced and genuinely beautiful.
