This Handmade Afghan Sultani Traditional Rug fills a steel blue field with rows of diamond medallions in navy, rust, and cream, arranged in a tight, repeating lattice. A wide ivory border with dense floral rosettes frames the piece, adding another layer of detail around the edges.
Every diamond and rosette was hand-knotted by weavers working through Kelim Shop's own production in Afghanistan. Working directly with our artisans, instead of outside traders, keeps pricing fair on a rug this dense in pattern.
The cool steel blue field is a distinctive choice against the warmer reds typical of Sultani weaving, giving this piece a fresher, more versatile read while keeping the traditional lattice structure intact.
